Brand New Blog

It's really weird writing on an iPad but maybe this will actually let me get my thoughts out. My laptop is already 5+ years old and a pain to have to load and pull out to type. By the time I have it open and set up I have already lost my thoughts and ideas for what I want to write. I wish I write down these ideas but I think I'm going to remember them and obviously I don't.

My life has changed so much in the last two years and it's been so busy, exciting, and stressful. I have not been able to document anything and that makes me a little sad. This blog is for my daily life, thoughts, documenting my son, and finding out who this new woman I am is.

I write as the words come so if anyone is reading this, I apologize for any spelling and grammatical errors. I'm not trying to be perfect even though I think that's what I need to be.

Let's hope this one sticks around. I've had so many blogs since 2000 and this one is my most important yet.

Ezra 2 Months!

I could never understand what people said about how fast babies grew up. 2 months in my life goes by fast but with not much change...2 months with a baby goes by fast with tons of change. Sometimes I want time to go fast so I can see Ezra grow and learn new things and sometimes I want him to stay little for longer. Luckily, he's still little but noticably bigger and looking more like a litle boy.

Weight/Length: 12lb 1 oz, 23 inches

Likes: eating, diaper changes (he loves to coo and smile during changes), the birds and mirror on his swing, sleeping in mom's arms, going on walks around the house in mom's arms, sitting in lap pushing legs out (they're strong!)

Dislikes: being hungry, losing his pacifier, loud noises, hiccups

- Ezra is now holding his head up on his own
- wearing a size 2 diaper (although a little big)
- wearing size 0-3 month clothing, some starting to get a little tight
- smiles when he sees mom or dad after not seeing either for a while
- makes "dinosaur noises" most of the time. when happy, he coos
- hair is looking light brown, eyes are still blue

Ezra 1 Month!

I started this blog a month after I planned but I still want to document his first month. At his check up, he was 10 pounds 1 ounce (birth weight was 7 pounds 4 ounces) and 21 inches long (18 inches long at birth). The first month I breast fed and supplemented with formula. After several appointments with a lactation consultant, I continued to have low milk supply. Ezra also had a hard time latching on but had good moments. I started taking fenugreek and drinking a lot of water...still didn't have enough. He didn't go more than 2 or 3 hours between feedings which meant I didn't get much sleep. It was very hard healing and taking care of Ezra but Gibson was home (working) and helped when he could.
